History
Founding
In 1973, Van Maele was founded as a wholesale distributor of tools and grew into an established name in the industry under the leadership of founder Michel Van Maele. To respond to the increasing demand for specialization, the company transformed into a model with multiple autonomous companies.
Van Maele Benelux NV
In 1997, daughter Els Van Maele founded Van Maele Benelux NV. This spin-off quickly gained an excellent reputation in the sector through market growth and structural expansions.
New Location
Van Maele Benelux is relocating to the Zuid industrial park in Tielt. This central and spacious location with improved storage capacities enables us to deliver within 24 hours throughout the Benelux.
Promega
In 2006, we introduced our own private label, "Promega." This product line guarantees an excellent price-quality ratio and continues to expand.
Technology Investments
In 2011, we invested in new technology, including an automated warehouse, which led to an optimization of our order-picking process.
First webshop
With the launch of our webshop www.vanmaelebenelux.be we offer customers the possibility to order 24/7. The user-friendly search function ensures efficient navigation through our product range.
Assortment Expansion
Due to the success of our webshop, we are continuously expanding our assortment of products available online, with daily updates of prices and stock levels.
Renewal of webshop
In 2020, we renewed our webshop to improve the user experience. With an improved search function and an expanded product range, customers can now place their orders even more easily.
Further expansion of the private label Promega
In 2022, we further expanded our private label Promega, making our assortment even more diverse and attractive to our customers. Additionally, we added new brands to our portfolio, which enables us to better meet market demands.
New Showroom and Exhibition Space
In 2023, we established our new showroom and exhibition space, offering our customers the opportunity to experience our products in an attractive and informative environment. This space is designed to give the customer an even better overview of our offering and to inspire them in their choices.
Installation of a welding center and expansion of the bandsaw range.
Since 2024, we have a brand new welding center for bi-metal bandsaws. In the future, carbide-tipped bandsaws will also be added to the assortment. Our state-of-the-art welding workshop is equipped with the newest generation of machines, including:
- Welding machine
- Measuring table with integrated pneumatic shear
- Grinding machine
- Capping machine: to protect the teeth of the bandsaws during transport and storage, as well as during the opening of the packaging by your operator.
- Digital printer
These investments enable us to offer customers short delivery times and unparalleled welding quality. Thanks to our investment in a large stock of coils, we can supply bandsaws quickly and efficiently. This means the customer never has to wait long for the high-quality bandsaws. The new printing machine also allows us to print dimensions and customer data directly onto the bandsaws, which ensures an extra professional appearance and ease of use. We have also expanded our Promega bandsaw range, allowing us to now offer a much wider range of bandsaws to meet the diverse needs of our customers.
Switch to new ERP system and launch of our new webshop
In 2025, we will take the next step in our digital transformation by switching to a new ERP system. This will enable us to further optimize our processes and increase efficiency. We will also launch a completely new webshop, which is even more user-friendly and offers an improved online shopping experience.

Els Van Maele
Els is the founder of Van Maele Benelux, established in 1997 as a spin-off of the family business. What began as a temporary role grew into a passion for the tools industry. Since then, Els has enthusiastically led the daily operations of the company. With her hands-on approach and years of experience, she remains the driving force behind the company's success. Els is proud of the growth of Van Maele Benelux and looks forward with confidence to the future alongside her team..
Yves De Wilde
With 17 years of experience, Yves is an essential part of our company. He started out as a corporate lawyer and made the transition to Van Maele Benelux in 2008. As a co-managing director, he combines a passion for customer contact with a customer-oriented approach. Yves travels many miles daily to visit clients, and the long-lasting relationships he builds speak volumes. His perseverance and flexibility are an inspiration. We are grateful for his commitment and look forward to a successful future together.
Elke De Bruyne
Elke has been a constant presence in our team for years. What started as temporary assistance with the inventory has grown into an indispensable collaboration. With her expertise and dedication, Elke provides customers with the best advice and supports her colleagues with enthusiasm and positivity. Dieter Debo
Dieter is the linchpin of our warehouse and welding centre. As warehouse manager, he ensures that logistics run smoothly with his experience and technical knowledge, and that products are always delivered on time and in top condition. He monitors quality, coordinates processes, and provides technical support, all with a great deal of professionalism and a touch of humour. Thanks to Dieter, everything runs smoothly and efficiently. His enthusiasm makes him an indispensable asset to our team!
Gianni Corijn
Gianni is responsible for our digital presence. He manages the website and webshop, keeps product information up to date, and continuously improves the user experience.
